a breakdown of my army "allowance" converted to SGD/hr1 day total work hour: 11hrs
in a week, assuming mon-fri: 11hrs X 5 = 55hrs
in a month: 55hrs X 4 = 220hrs
one month's allowance: $500
average $/hr : $500/220hrs = $2.27/hr
not to mention there's no pay when u work OT. and almost everyday there's OT.
with OT. (assuming we work until 9, not uncommon)
1 day total work hour: 14hrs
1 week: 14hrs X 5 = 70hrs
in a month: 70hrs X 4 = 280
therefore average $/hr : $500/280hrs = $1.78/hr
conclusion: no matter i work OT or not, im paid less than janitors who clean up markets and coffee shops.And we're called sons of Singapore
